Continuing on my project of up-loading here one new artwork each day, here is another of my Portuguese Bergau watercolours. This was painted mostly up on the cliff overlooking Bergau, the little fishing village I visited last October with my friends, Regina and David. I finished this today with a little pen & ink work which I think is what I was looking for to sharpen up these watercolours. I was quite pleased with this result….
Having done a sketch of the building where my studio is I decided to experiment with mixing watercolour with some acrylic…
Interesting so far, now need to think where to go next.
Using different watercolour. These are more intense and I’m happier with the result…now…to pencil or not to pencil???
The watercolours are still soft but I’ve tried adding watercolour pencil to add to the sharpness of the image…better but need to explore further.
Another study. Not sure I like the softness of watercolour…thinking how to make harder edges
I have started working on the watercolour studies I brought back from Portugal. Good to getting me back in the process
